St Joseph's Higher Secondary School,Thalassery is one of the prestigious institutions in Malabar. It was started as an Anglo Indian school in the 16th century, being one of the oldest schools in Northern Kerala run under the management of Latin Diocese of Kannur. It finds place among the rarest schools, which make significant contribution towards the development of education in Malabar. This aided school has been passing through the credits of having excellent results in public exams for SSLC and plus two. The school is situated in west of Thalassery town, by the side of the Thalassery fort and the sub collector's bungalow. The architecture of the school, which gives a natural view of the Arabian sea, even from the classrooms is another peculiarity of the school.

The institution offers classes for upper primary, high school and higher secondary. It also provides wide support for extra curricular activities as well. It is having several achievements in sports and youth festivals.
